Insurance
At the Emerald Coast Vision Center, Dr. Nichols accepts many insurances to accomodate her patients. For TriCare Prime, TriCare Standard, MediCare, MediCaid, Davis FEP, Spectera, United Health Care, Optum Health, Principal, Always, Starmount, and National Vision Administrators (NVA) we will get a preauthorization code once you have arrived for your appointment. Please be prepared to pay your copay, if you have one.
For Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Vision Service Plan (VSP), and other insurances not listed, payment is required in full the day of your exam and we will file the claim for you as a courtesy.
For all patients using any form of insurance: please have your insurance card and the social security number of the primary account holder with you when you arrive for your appointment. Without this information your claim may not be processed and you will be billed for any outstanding monies. For our military patients we will also need a valid Military ID for the patient being seen.
Please note: many vision insurances cover a basic eye exam only and do not cover the cost of a contact lens fitting. You will be required to pay for the contact lens fitting at the time of your exam.
